Wipro Technologies has not bagged many large deals in the outsourcing market, unlike TCS and Infosys. However, this lacuna is soon going to be taken care of by a multi-million dollar deal with General Motors. The deal will probably be finalized by this year-end.
According to Wipro, although the company has lacked large deals, its growth is fast-paced, the company also has the advantage of a combined offering in the BPO and IT sectors, and several of the Wipro contracts involve services provided by both these industries. The Economic Times reports:
Wipro’s infrastructure management services business has been growing at a 30% rate. Its contribution to total revenues has also gone up from 6% of revenues in Q1 to 8% of revenues in Q2. Now, the company is looking at mega deals where it can leverage its expertise in this area.
